IMMEDIATE RELEASE
For more information, contact Oregon Logging Conference Dessert Benefits Provider Pals™ Eugene, Ore. – To most local residents, the Oregon Logging Conference is recognizable by the huge pieces of heavy equipment lining the fairgrounds each February. However, the conference is more than just perusing expensive equipment. For the past four years, the women of the Oregon Logging Conference have organized Desserts for Dreams, a social gathering featuring desserts, wine and champagne donated by local bakeries and restaurants. This year’s Desserts for Dreams will be held on Friday, Feb. 23, at the Eugene Hilton from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Several local restaurants and bakeries have donated mouth-watering desserts for this event. Tickets are $25 per person. Call (541) 686-9191 or (800) 595-9191 to reserve a ticket. All proceeds from the event are given to a charity chosen by the logging conference director’s spouse. This year the Desserts for Dreams will benefit Provider Pals™, chosen by conference First Lady Sally Brown. Last year’s Desserts for Dreams raised $3,000. Provider Pals™ builds bridges of understanding between our nation’s youth and the people who produce and provide the products that our society consumes. The organization provides the opportunity for urban students to visit rural communities for a week of learning about natural resources. Similarly, rural students are given the opportunity to visit big cities and tour museums, galleries and historic monuments. |
