Rothenbuhler Engineering, Home of the Talkie Tooter, is a privately held electronics engineering and manufacturing company, founded in 1946. Company headquarters are in the North Cascades town of Sedro Woolley, Washington.
A Talkie Tooter is a remote control radio designed for use in logging. It remotely controls the air whistle on a yarder and all types of skyline carriages.
The radio system includes a receiver, one or more transmitters, antenna, speaker, transmitter charger, cabling and hardware. Installation, operation and troubleshooting information is included. The Talkie Tooter transmitter is carried on a belt and operated from the hip. The Talkie Tooter radiowhistle system is much faster than voice communication, wire signalman or hand signaling. Everyone hears the signal in time to move away from the danger of the moving line.
