FORESTRY SCHOLARSHIP FUND RAFFLE

The Oregon Logging Conference scholarship program was established in 1968.  Over the past 44 years, the OLC has awarded nearly a million dollars in scholarships to young adults who share an interest and would like to pursue a career in the Forest Industry.    

Please help us keep this worthwhile program alive so we can continue to provide “Forestry Education Scholarships."

OREGON LOGGING CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Oregon Logging Conference (OLC) scholarship program is offered to students who are studying in forestry related areas of study. OLC will accept applications starting on January 10th of each year. The applications must be received in the OLC office no later than April 11th of the same year.

The OLC awards 5 to 10 scholarships annually; scholarship ranges from $750 to $1,500 each. The scholarship is available to help supplement costs of tuition and books. The scholarship will be sent directly to the recipients's school and deposited into the student's account. If a recipient does not attend college for the year scholarship is awarded the total amount of the scholarship will be returned to the Oregon Logging Conference.

The applications are reviewed by a committee of 6 to 8 of the OLC board of directors. the final selection of recipients will be made at the OLC Spring meeting (May). Recipients will be notified by mail after that date.

The following guidelines must be met in order to apply for the OLC scholarship:

  • Applicants must be studying in the following areas;

Forest Engineering
Forest Management
Forest Operations Management
Heavy Equipment Maintenance and Welding
Resource Management
Diesel mechanics
Other forest /timber industry related areas of study

  • The applications must be received in the OLC office no later than April 11th.
