Friday, February. 24, 2012,

Vista Ballroom - 12th Floor at the Eugene Hilton

First Lady Kim Wienke invites you to join her at the 9th Annual Ladies Desserts for Dreams Charity Event, Friday, February 24, 2012, at the Eugene Hilton. The 2012 event will include a light lunch to go along with the delicious desserts from the many bakeries in the Eugene and Springfield area.

A light lunch, desserts, wine, champagne and an alcohol-free beverage choice will be served from 12:30pm until 3:00pm. Tickets for this event are $25 with 100% of the proceeds going to the charity of her choice.

Mrs. Kim Wienke has selected NAMI; a charity that in part, provides funding to educate folks with mental illness to teach others with mental illness how to manage their illness. Kim works in the field of mental health and provides services to consumers with mental health issues. She sees first hand how effective eduction is to help families and their loved ones learn how mental illness influences a family and the individual who copes with the illness. Understanding goes a long way to help support our communites and help them to cope as well. We all likely have experienced a family member(s) or perhaps ourselves that cope with mental illness. Mental Illness affects one in four families. It is not as remote as we might assume. Visit their website for more details at www.nami.org/MSTemplate.cfm?Site=NAMI_Oregon.

Join us to celebrate the diversity that makes us all unique and help support an awesome cause. A special thank you to the Oregon Electric Station and the Eugene Hilton.

OWIT "Talk About Trees"

Fundraiser Auction, Reception and Dinner

Friday, February 24, 2012
5:00 pm - Doors Open for Silent Auction
No Host Reception, Dinner and Live Auction
Playwrights Hall, Eugene Hilton

Oregon Women in Timber would like to personally invite you to our 21st annual auction held each year to benefit our education program Talk About Trees! The evening will begin at 5:00 PM with conversation and cocktails followed by a sit down dinner, a silent and live auction. Plan to attend for some serious bidding to support forestry education and after the auction.

2 MILLION Oregon students have participated in a Talk About Trees classroom program since 1991! Talk About Trees is a statewide forestry education program. The purpose of the program is to increase student's knowledge and awareness of forestry and related issues, including the life cycle of trees, forest health, trees as a natural resource, forest as habitat for animals, and careers in forestry. The on-site, hands-on science unit of study is offered to pre-school through eighth grade students free of charge and is presented by Talk About Trees facilitators.

Your support makes a difference!  A contract with the Oregon Forest Resources Institute (OFRI) is the primary financial support for the program, but no less critical is the support from our annual auction, grants, and many generous donations from individuals and business. This support and confidence enables Talk About Trees to continue educating Oregonians, young and old, about the valuable resource of our renewable forests.

Sponsoring a Tradition of Forestry Education for Future Generations!  A $100 sponsorship ticket supports the Oregon Logging Conference and Oregon Women in Timber to continue their tradition of supporting forestry education.  Proceeds fund the Oregon Logging Conference Scholarship Fund and the Talk About Trees Forest Education Program.   Each ticket provides a chance to win one of four live auction items at the Oregon Women in Timber Annual Auction held at the Eugene Hilton on February 24, 2012.   Must be present to win.

Your attendance at our auction, a cash donation or donation of an auction item will help us to maintain our success and reach even more students this school year. Remember - All donations and purchases are tax deductible. Oregon Women in Timber is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. Please note that your cash or item donation (s) and or table reservations must be received by January 31, 2012.

For more information about Talk About Trees or the fundraiser auction, contact Oregon Women in Timber and Diann Washburn at 503-831-1593 or PO Box 760, Dallas, OR 97338
