Family Day at the Oregon Logging Conference

For more than a decade children have delighted in the fun, educational exhibits and activities at OLC’s Family Day. All exhibits are free and open to the public on Family Day.

  • Educational activities such as paper-making and simulated firefighting

  • Wildlife exhibits and birdhouse construction

  • Forestry mascots Smokey the Bear and Connie Fir

  • Millions of dollars in logging equipment to explore.

Special Exhibit: Talk About Trees
Talk About Trees, sponsored by the Oregon Women in Timber, is a free, hands-on forest education program that presents science-based curriculum to kindergarten through eighth grade classes. Talk About Trees teaches children about:

  • Tree identification

  • Photosynthesis

  • Definition of resources

  • Renewability

  • Structure of trees

  • Conservation

  • Forest management.
