2012 Oregon Logging Conference Schedule Announced,

“The World Needs Our Wood” is this year’s theme

Skilled log loader operators sought for the conference’s

Third annual log loader operator competition

Eugene, Ore.  –  Towering heavy equipment and forestry professionals from across the world return to the Lane Events Center in Eugene, Feb. 23 through 25, for the 74th  Oregon Logging Conference.

The OLC has a deserved reputation as the west coasts most complete exhibition of the latest logging industry equipment, complemented by high-quality educational opportunities and networking events. “If you are in the logging industry, this year’s event is a tremendous value,” said 2012 OLC President Ken Wienke. “At a time when we see signs of the economy beginning to improve, we’ve worked hard to make this the event to learn what’s happening in the industry, from equipment to education and all under one roof.”

This year’s theme, “The World Needs Our Wood” will be discussed at conference educational seminars and during the keynote address given by William F. Springer, Vice President of Caterpillar Diversified Products Division.  With current information about the global market, Springers’ remarks promise to be timely.

Brains and brawn will abound at the 2012 OLC. Registered participants will have the opportunity to earn nine professional logger credits and eight SAF-CFE credits. The brute force of the logging profession will be on exhibition during the third annual log loader operator competition.  The event will put skilled log loader operators against each other in an exciting timed competition held on Friday and Saturday of the conference.

“This year’s conference is packed with unique opportunities for forestry professionals to increase their knowledge, kick some tires and see and hear about the latest technology and equipment on the market,” said Wienke.  “With the economy starting to turn around the OLC will ensure our attendees receive the greatest value for their registration fee, offering outstanding educational networking opportunities and the largest heavy equipment expo west of the Mississippi River.”

Also again this year all indoor exhibitors will be under one roof in the Convention Center, making it easier for attendees to see all of the displays in one location and m ore convenient for attending educational seminars and food vendors.  In addition, the Sawdust Bowl will be located in the Performance Hall of the Convention Center.  This popular networking event includes hosted beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages.

To register for the conference or for more information, visit the Oregon Logging Conference website, www.oregonloggingconference.com, or call (514) 686-9191.
