Dave Boyd is a second generation forester with Hancock Forest Management in the Pacific Northwest. He joined Hancock Forest Management in 2003 and is now Senior Forester based in Cathlamet, Washington. Prior to joining Hancock Forest Management, Dave worked in log and timber acquisition and as a timber faller. His educational background combines an undergraduate degree in Economics from Willamette University with a graduate degree in Forest Engineering from Oregon State.

 

 

 

 "Managing Road Systems and Data: A High Tech Solution"

Marty BrooksMarty Brooks, Road Construction and Maintenance Supervisor for Weyerhaeuser Company in Aberdeen, Washington will talk about "Managing Road Systems and Data:  A High Tech Solution" on Friday, February 26. 

The seminar will cover managing road systems to reduce costs, schedule projects, set budgets, and protect the environment, requires managers to process and analysis an immense volume of information.  ArcGIS software can be utilized to reduce the amount of paperwork to pull all of this information together into an organized and easily retrievable format.  The application can be utilized in the field when installed on a laptop, which allows data to be collected on the go.  The presentation is intended to be a simplified explanation of the software and how it is used for our operations in Southwest Washington for RMAP (Road Maintenance and Abandonment Planning).

Marty is a 1984 graduate from Oregon State University and has a B.S. Forest Management.
