Oregon Logging Conference
Resolution 2004-4

A resolution seeking full and adequate funding of the Fire Protection Budget for the Oregon Department of Forestry.

WHEREAS, the timber resource that is being protected is valued for wildlife, water quality, aesthetics and jobs.

WHEREAS, vast areas of Oregon's forestlands are in jeopardy of catastrophic wildfires.

WHEREAS, it is more cost efficient to prevent fires and/or extinguish them when they are small, than to fight large project fires.

THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED, the members of the Oregon Logging Conference respectfully requests that Governor Kulongoski, Honorable Members of the Oregon House of Representatives and Oregon Senate, and all the citizens of Oregon, to support full and adequate funding of the Fire Protection Budget for the Oregon Department of Forestry so they can protect our forests, which are vital to all the citizens of Oregon.
